The Reader Group
The Ashanaya Circle
A few hundred readers on four continents, working through one story together at the pace it was written. Free to join, easy to leave, and warmer than the internet usually manages.
How the circle works
One chapter a month
We read slowly. Each month the circle takes a single chapter of Ashanaya or a myth that stands behind it, and nobody is behind.
First Sunday, ninety minutes
An open conversation online at 4pm Central. Michael sits in for the second half of every session and answers whatever is asked.
Living-room chapters
Members who want to meet in person host small local chapters. If there is no chapter near you, we will help you start one.
Two gatherings a year
At each solstice the whole circle meets in one place, usually around a fire, and the story gets told out loud from memory.
What we ask of each other
Read what you can. Say what you actually think. Let other people finish. That is the whole charter, and after four years it has not needed anything added to it.
There are no fees, no tiers, and no obligation to speak. Plenty of members have sat quietly through a dozen sessions and then said the thing that changed the room.
Membership
Come in
Leave your name and email and you will get the next reading, the meeting link, and nothing else. No weekly newsletter, no upsell, and one email a month at most.
If you would rather write to Michael directly first, that is welcome too — his address is at the foot of every page.
